Music & Life in St. Louis

St. Louis was our first home when we moved to the US. Not only did St. Louis gave us some great memories, but it also, gave us a few opportunities to play our music live.

When you reach a plateau, try something different.

A few weeks ago, we felt something similar to what is equivalent to a ‘writers’ block’. Yes, our levels of creativity had reached a plateau then. That’s when we decided to try something different to draw inspiration from. It wasn’t something that we were passionate about but, it was something that excited us and that made us wonder. And, it was good enough to get our creative juices flowing again. Sometimes, a little challenge would bring things to perspective and help you think in a different way.

How did The Cocoknot Theori come to be?

Music is simple and elementary. You need a story and you need an expression in music to explain it. The simplicity of this approach to music is what inspired the formation of this band. We look to life with curiosity and find stories to tell.

What first started as a journey through the annals of rock, from rock to death metal via a detour through indian carnatic and hidustani has now brought us at a crossroad where we think we have something to express that cannot be classified.

The Cocoknot Theori (formerly, Knotted) came across when like minded people who shared the same emotions came together with a determination not to constrained by a single genre of music. This is what we have to offer. This is what we are passionate about – expressing things the way they are supposed to be.
